Having twins is such a blessing, Alhamdulliah.

One of the biggest challenges we faced at the time, was that we brought the twins home to a 1 bedroom apartment. We couldn’t afford to buy a house. And the lease for our apartment had another 8 more months to go. And as being the primary income provider in my family, unfortunately maternity leave REALLY dug a deep hole into my savings.

So, one of the things I happen to be very good at is finding products/items that can fit my twin’s needs in a small space. As well as, finding items/products that are versitile and can last me a few months/years, therefore saving me money.

Here are some of my favorite twin must-haves for SMALL apartment spaces:

1. Convertible Mini Crib

A mini crib is a crib that is SMALLER than a regular size crib. Now, that may sound daunting, In fact you’re probably thinking that it’s a waste of money because the kid is just going to outgrow so quickly like they would a basinet (which is a TOTAL waste of money and space).

But the truth is, yes a mini crib is smaller than a regular size crib, but its much bigger than a basinet. It’s probably similar in size of a regular size playpen. In fact, my twin boys were 2 years old, and STILL fit in the mini cribs we bought them. And we were able to fit BOTH mini cribs and a queen size bed and 2 dressers in our bedroom with eough walking space. Think about that.

There are SO MANY options in styles. There is no way you wouldn’t find a style that you like.

And the bonus part! A convertible mini crib can be turned into a toddler bed, a day bed, or even a twin size bed for future use! That means a convertible mini crib will last for years to come!! LIke WOW! if that doesn’t save you money, I don’t know what does. The convertible mini crib I bought for my twins is in the link below.

2. Booster seats w/ trays

This like a baby high-chair but you strap the booster seat to an already existing dinning room chair. Therefore, eliminates the extra bulky space that a traditional high chair takes up. The booster seat that I bought for my twins is in the link below.

Summer Deluxe Comfort Folding Booster

This booster seat is such a space saver! Not only does it turn a regular dinning chair into a high chair, but its got a compact fold feature, that makes it easy to store away. On top of that, it’s also height adjustable! So the baby can use it all throughout into their toddler years!

3. Tandem Double Stroller

Invest well in the stroller you choose! Especially if you want to use it for a good few years and in ALL types of weather conditions. A tandem double stroller offers a feature where the twins are seated one infront of the other, therefore only taking up the same width of a single stroller. This is better than the side-by-side double strollers, because alot of those don’t fit into doorways.

The link to the double stroller that I bought for my twins is below:

Dream On Me Track Tandem Stroller

This double stroller is so durable and versitile. You can change the positions of each seat to face towards you, face forward or even face to face. The rear seat can recline. There is a LARGE storage bin underneat which is a MUST! And a cup holder compartment, which is a plus! And it has a compact fold feature, easy for storage. My twin boys used this stroller from when they were born untill about age 3.

4. Baby Rocker

There are so many options for baby rockers. But not many can them into their toddler years. The link to the baby rocker I bought for my twins is below:

Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker

This is a great baby rocker. It’s got several colorful options to choose from. It can be a stationary seat or a rocking seat. The toy bar is great visual/auditory stimulation for babies and is removable for toddlers (up to 40lbs). It’s has a calming vibration feature to help soothe babies. The seat can recline, and the seat pad is machine washable.

5. Baby Gate

Baby gates become a MUST as soon as the babies become more mobile! I had one for the kitchen. But choosing the right baby gate for an apartment is important. Most apartments have strict rules about drilling holes and things like that. Likely there are some options out there that use pressure mounting to secure the baby gates in place. The link to the baby gate I bought for my apartment is below:

Regalo Extra Tall Walk Thru Baby Gate

This baby gate is very durable. I was able to continue to use the baby gate for my kitchen even until my twins were like 2-3years old. This particular product comes with both tall and extra wide features.
